How the Program Works






What is the Appleseed Xpression Session?: A free exercise that helps students with their focus and memory over the course of the school day.

Aim: To improve the quality students’ thoughts and actions during their time in the classroom.
​
What’s needed: 2 minutes for the warm-up stretch and and 2+ minutes for free writing.
For how long: 1-3 months
​
Who participates: 1 class of students between grades 1-5.
​
How it works: The teacher plays the video on Home page before classes begin each morning. At the end of the warm-up stretch, students do 2 minutes of free writing or drawing in response to the question, “How are you feeling today?”.

Student and Teacher Feedback:

Students and teachers will complete a survey at the beginning and end of the pilot program. Teachers will be provided with composition books for the Free Writing portion of the program.

The program coordinator will meet the teacher either in person once at the beginning of the pilot to introduce the program to students and then again meet at the end of the program to gather feedback. Materials will be available electronically.
